Mashhad hosts park Quran reciting session

A park in Mashhad, Iran, has scheduled to host a series of daily Quran reading sessions during the holy month of Ramadan.

Like many other cities in Iran, Muslims gather to recite the Holy Quran. Although most of the Quran sessions are being held at religious places, Mashhad has taken one of such blessed gatherings to the green nature of a park.

Mashhad was selected as the Cultural Capital of the Muslim World for 2017 during the 7th conference of the ISESCO member states in the Algerian capital city of Algiers in 2007.

Every year, Mashhad hosts over 27 million Iranian and some two million foreign pilgrims in the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).
